I wanted to make sure that my bearded dragon was being fed the correct amount of food and the man in the pet shop told us to feed her live foods such as crickets and locusts every other day and veg every day She is about 7 months old, 13 inches and weighs 135 grams. Also how many live food am I meant to feed her at once? At the moment we are feeding her around 20 large Dubia roaches every other day and I feed her fresh apple Cale and pakchoy every day. Is this correct ?

At 6 months she should get one feed a day of live food plus veg. I'd only feed our s 6~8 roaches daily cutting back to every other day at around 12 months with an increase to 10~12 at that time. Keep a check on her weight to see that it is increasing steadily and see if you can add some other veg like dandelion flowers and leaves, nasturtiums or rocket. They also rather like butternut pumpkin.

Thank you Rick for your reply, we don't have butternut pumpkin here in England is it the same as butternut squash, if so how do I prepare it for her, can she have it raw or do we have to cook it first. And 1 last thing we are fitting her a habistat health care vitamin supplement dusted on the roaches weekly. Is this okay?

Butternut squash/pumpkin both the same and yes weekly vitamin supplement is good. I assume you are dusting one feed a day with calcium?

Calcium is more important than the vitamins - it should be available from your local pet shop and at this age one feed of live daily lightly dusted with calcium will be right. Rep Cal calcium powder is probably best.

Okay that's fine I will get some for her to have every day, we are going on holiday for 2 weeks and we were wondering how many times she will need to be fed by someone coming to our house to feed her, will she be okay without live food for that long or not . And they will just feed her vegetables every morning ?

She's still growing so needs her protein - ideally she should still have her live food at least every other day.
