I'm in the process of setting up my colony. I have an old fish tank 2x1x1ft. Is this ok or size ? I only want to feed 1 beardie so am worried about producing too many roaches.

Yeah that will be fine. The size of the colony will all depend on how many adults you have..

Have you had a read of my care sheet?

First place I looked Daniel ! Great info thanks.

I think I'll see how I go with a small starter colony and perhaps try to sell any excess.

Thanks for your help.

Daniel, can I ask a silly question ?If I put the heat mat on the bottom of the glass tank, do I need to put something heat-proof between the mat and the surface I'm putting it on ?

Thanks

No you dont need to. You can maybe put something underneath to create a small gap for air flow but I dont have one.
