I think you can Trish. I'm a member of a rugby forum which has the same setup as this one (just different colours) and the members asked for a chat section. They added a chat box which appeared between the forum sections and the members online part. Saying that it's not as straight forward as it seems, you have to actually go into the chat part and you can't browse the rest of the forum, then you have to wait for someone else to access the chat section which takes a short while, by which point you've got bored and left.

It's ok in theory but I don't think it would work.

:(:(:(:(

I have seen on a Gecko forum somewhere that they have a little chat window that actually pops up as a separate little thing so you can still browse

The problem is it will probably be a mod. Last time I added a mod to the code the forum got severely hacked. Luckily a friend (who I've lost touch with) went through and stripped out all the hacking code, but the board was down for a while. I've kept the board 'virgin' since then!

Maybe as Rick said then some sort of Skype chat we could organise every so often. If someone creates a thread for everyone to add their own skype names and then post dates and times of the chats.

It's something to think on - I'll see if I can come up with anything and we'll get back on this.

Could possibly try msn or 1 of the popular sites for chat which can also be set up for group chat I think!

Just a thought, not everyone has it or wants to give those details out but it's free like Skype, there are also Los of apps for iPhone and blackbury if people have these phones.

This addition has been looked at and is feasible, however due to time restraints we can't add it for a little while. If you really find a need to chat over something quickly and don't want to put it on the board you can e-mail me and we can set up a Skype contact or search me out on Facebook. I check both email and facebook at least 3~4 times a day so I can be in touch quite quickly - I would mention however that anything that is so urgent that it needs immediate attention probably should be down the vets by the time I can make contact!

Obviously anything that urgent must be vets first not wait for Rick to come online. lol.
but it would be good when its running for people to talk online to other members
