Hi everyone!

I'm Rachel and my first ever beardy is arriving tomorrow!

He's a young adult, around 18 months. He has a name already but it's the same as my ex so my daughter has renamed him max after her best friend at nursery!

Anyway, I'm sure come tomorrow I will have a lot of questions. I've had some experience of beardys from my veterinary training but have never owned a lizard before. I've read up on everything I can think of but I'm sure there will be plenty of questions tomorrow, probably silly little things or things with conflicting answers on the internet (there seems to be lots, sometimes you just need a straight answer!).

Very excited for tomorrow, I'll keep you all posted! X

Hi!

Yea he's here, settled in fantastically and couldn't have asked for a better behaved beardie!

Had a bit of a blip when his heat lamp broke but that's fixed now and his back to his normal self :)

No need to worry when a lamp blows - these guys will survive a day or so of low temps as long as it isn't freezing. You don't need specific heat lamps either - a 60 or 75 watt RO 80 spotlight does the trick at a lot less cost than the "reptile" lamps sold in pet shops.
