Hello all. I am new to this forum and just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the posts which made me feel comfortable in the knowledge that we can offer our new beardie "Duncan" a proper habitat for him to be happy in not just what we think looks nice. Duncan is 13 months old we got him last Sunday and he has settled in really well. Was a bit worried that he didnt eat until this morning but for breakfast this morning he happily munched down 4 medium locusts!!! Been trying with greenery yet hes a bit reluctant on eating them. A friend at work who is a beardie owner has suggested rocket and water cress which I bought on my way home from work, so fingers crossed with that one. Just wanted to introduce myself as I will be referring to you guys for advice and any worries that I might have. Forums like this are a blessing to newbie beardie owners like myself. So hello and hope to put some pictures of Duncan on here real soon. Hopefully we can continue to check out posts on your forum and that will enable us to create a brilliant home for Duncan, and help us to keep hes welfare the most important thing in him joining our family.

Hi and welcome to the forum :D
Greens can be very hit and miss, we tend to use things that we like as well so nothing gets wasted. Herbs are sometimes popular and so is butternut squash. Also at this time of year you can offer dandelion flowers, just make sure no pesticides have been used (we use the ones in our backgarden) and wash them well :D

Difficult when you get a beardie that has already been owned by someone else. Although we took down every detail of feeding etc there is obviously some bits the past owner missed to tell us as once we do something it becomes habit? I had Duncans food in the same dish as the last owner and although I have tried every veg or fruit that has been recommended he hasnt been eating any of them. This morning after hes gut full of locusts I put water cress and rocket onto hes shelf off the sand out of hes bowl and he got stuck right in? So obviously needed to see it?? Hes eating fine, lighting and heating is spot on thanks again to this forum, all we need to do now is wait a few more weeks for him to settle in then we can get building a larger more substaintial habitat. So thank you. :D

Hi I'm Michelle. My daughter got a bearded dragon for her birthday at the end of March and we not having much luck it was approx 12 weeks old when we got it and and the shop gave us black crickets that were too big, wouldn't eat for a few about a week but then tried small hoppers which it ate straight away. now it won't eat gain and seems to just lie flat out on the floor of viv. we have been to vet who took xray and said bones ok, but this morning noticed it sort of limping given warm baths in case its impacted as was on calcisand but now on paper. got vet app in morning
