I'm not surprised - and this is why viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1372 . It really is not needed, they've been doing this for millions of years and really only need a rough surface somewhere to rub on.

Hi Rick after being a memeber for a while now i've read numerous posts regarding baths, bathing etc etc and on quite a few of them at some point you've replied with don't do it, it's a complete no no. Now having delt with two reputeable (excuse spelling if it's wrong lol) breeders over here who have both suggested bathing for one reason or the other wouldn't it be better to say that under normal circumstances bathing is a no no with a few exceptions being..................... because all new comers to this site are relying on info thats correct to the letter (sometimes).

Hi,

I know I keep beating that particular drum, but I do it because people will bath their dragon at the drop of a hat - go on RFUK and you get things like "What temperature should my dragon's bath be" "How old before I start bathing him" etc. I agree there are a few circumstances where it may be needed but these are few and far between. Really bad shed, dehydration, filthy dirty having just walked through a large smelly dropping are about it, so to keep it simple I'd rather err on the side of caution and say "don't bath" than start running a list of exceptions as well. However I'm quite happy for anyone to come along and qualify my statements or discuss them if they want.
I''ve seen more than one case where a dragon has died due to a resipritory problem and when asked, the owner has said that among other things they've bathed/sprayed the dragon weekly because someone said it was OK to do.

Hi

I'm in full agreement with you Rick the only problem with that is this isn't RFUK as far as I'm concerned anyway it's a much better site the only issue I have about the bathing thing is that if we start correcting ourselves when the right situation for bathing does come up people aren't going to know whats the best course of action do they trust what they are told here or go to other forums............ I mean if you were to go back to point when you wanted to get your first dragon and you did as much research as you possibly could, found a great site felt as though you got to know the people on it and two experts gave you conflicting info what would you think?

OK I understand your point and I'll try and remember to modify my stance on this :) By the way no one pulled me up on the fact that I forgot to mention constipation as one of the few areas where bathing is indicated!
