Check this sticky out viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3549 when you read the article it links to, you'll see that the "red" lights rate very poorly in general terms. Better to use a spotlight.

hi, welcome to the forum, not sure but to me it looks like you are using a normal shaped uv bulb (didnt know you could get them like that) the uv bulb i'm asuming we all use is the same as a long floresent bulb but uv, if you get what i mean. :?

You need to use the long strip uv tubes (3 foot uv in a 4 foot viv at least) - if not your beardie will develop problems as he will not be getting enough uv light. The compact uv bulbs do not throw enough uv light around the viv as your beardie will only benefit when he is under the bulb - the long strip uv tubes provide uv around the whole of the viv and no matter where your beardie is he will benefit from the uv.
