Hi everyone,

My beardie has gone to sleep should I turn off the heat bulb and uv light?
He had eaten quite a few wax worms and didn't go to the loo, will he be ok?
Thanks Heather

Hi, how old is your beardie and how much does he weigh? How long has he been 'asleep' for?

Hello again,
He has been asleep for 2 weeks and he is approx 2 years old, don't know his weight but he's not very big.

Thanks again

You do need to try and get him to pass that food, heat is needed for digestion and if he's not basking then the food can sit in his gut and eventually rot. Try getting him up on his basking spot for a couple of days and give him warm baths and tummy massages, hopefully that will do the trick.

Thanks for your reply. The only thing is I hate to wake him as he is really out of it and this may cause him alot of stress.

Once you know his stomach is empty then it's quite safe to turn heat and lighting down/off.
