Hi I'm just looking for some advice I'm thinking of getting my first pair of bearded dragons on Saturday. Luckily they are coming with everything, as they need to be rehomed so I said I'd have them. My question is I have a lurcher dog who is inquisitive at the best of times, my partner is worried in case he goes mad at them once we get them home. Can anyone advice me should I expect any problems or will he just be nosey to start with any advice will be a help

Can't comment on dogs but our cats just give them the once over then ignore them. However having said that I would never leave cats/dogs alone in the same room with a dragon that wasn't secure in a viv. The other point here is keeping two dragons together, you should read this viewtopic.php?f=20&t=9750 as it points out certain problems you may have with housing two. Any questions on this just ask and we'll do what we can to answer/help.

Hi rick

Thank you for your reply and the info on two dragons, they are 18 months old and are both females and I believe they have been together since day one...

The dog would never be left with the dragons out of there viv, the viv is a locked one but he would b left alone when my partner goes to work and me getting from work as I work nights, maximum this would be is four hours

Shouldn't be any problem with the dog as long as he can't knock the viv over!!

With the dragons you'll still need to keep an eye out for aggression and power plays - I've known them to get along for 3~4 years then one day flip and just start tearing into one another.
