You'll probably think I'm an evil witch but we don't have the time or money to dedicate to incubating eggs or raising baby dragons right now. If my girl does lay eggs, can I just dispose of them? I don't know how maternal beardies are!
Also, I purchased my boy and girl together, they are around 18 months old, and as far as I am aware have always been together. Loads of the reptile keeping sites I read before hand said a male and female can live together. But I've read lots of bits on here saying they shouldn't:?: Is the only way to stop them breeding to separate them? I'm not sure what to do now

You may be lucky and they'll live happily together but the consensus on here is to separate. Bullying is not always obvious and one of your beardies may be suffering. There are some posts on here with some pretty nasty pictures of what can happen if they fight.

Separating is the only way to stop breeding and constant mating will put a strain on your female. In the wild, they live solitarily, only coming together to breed, so don't worry about them being 'lonely' :)

In the end, it's your choice but read the posts on here so you know the signs to look out for.

Put the eggs in the freezer to kill the embryos then throw them in the bin once thoroughly frozen.

I hope this helps and I'm sure the others will also offer some advice :D

Our stance on keeping them together is based on experience. Over 75% of those who keep two or more dragons together have to separate them due to constant breeding, bullying or aggression causing injury or death. My vet is a rep specialist and he is one of the strongest advocates I know for one beardie one enclosure although it does slow down his practice if they're separated (no where near so many injuries). As advised - if eggs are found then freeze them immediately then bin them. It's the most sensible thing to do and no one here will get upset with you for considering it.
